Spring Fair: Calling All Volunteers

This May, SAC wants to bring back the Spring Fair. This amazing event brings our entire community together for a day of fun and excitement, while also raising money to help fund many of SAC’s initiatives that help to enrich the learning experience of all of the children who attend our school.

Spring Fair Co-Chairs: Deborah Evans and Kim Trimboli

Silent auction/Sponsorship Coordinator: C. Kilpatrick

The silent auction is the main source of fundraising dollars at the fair. Please reach out if your business would like to donate an item for our auction or be a sponsor for our event, which will help offset the costs of putting on the Spring Fair.

We still need your help!

Two parents have already volunteered for the hard job of planning and coordinating the entire day. They have a lot of great ideas, but they need your help to make the day happen.  We're calling on our Broadlands family to lend a hand and take on some of the individual tasks in order to make the day a success!

We are looking for a team of 2 to 4 people to head up the following sections:

Booths and games
We need 2 people to organize the booths and games. This may involve planning the booths (e.g. face painting, temporary tattoos) and games (e.g ring toss), working with a vendor to supply the games, purchasing supplies, and determining the number of volunteers needed for each station.

Bake sale
We need 2 people to plan a bake sale. This will involve asking for and gathering donations, determining the number of volunteers needed at the event.

Communications coordinator
We need 2 or 3 people to get the word out beyond our school community. We already have someone to design the flyers, etc., but we will need people to coordinate printing, visit the local schools to drop off flyers, put up signs around the neighbourhood and post signs about the event on local community boards.

Volunteer coordinator
We need 1 to 2 people to coordinate all of the volunteers needed for the day of the event. This involves working with all the section leads to determine their numbers, signing up adult and student volunteers and creating a volunteer schedule for the day of the event.

We already have someone on board to coordinate the bouncy castles, special entertainment, and a craft show marketplace (although I’m sure they’d love help if anyone else wants to assist!)

If you are interested in helping out in one of these capacities – or have another great Spring Fair idea you’d like to share, please email us at broadlandssac2013@gmail.com and come out to our first committee meeting.
